A Gentler Way Forward
Do any of these sound familiar?
Maybe nothing feels dramatically “wrong”—but you know you are not functioning quite the way you would like.
“You’re tired all day, then wide awake when it’s finally time to sleep.”
“You read the same paragraph three times and realize you still weren’t taking it in.”
“You snap at someone you care about, then wonder why such a small thing got to you.”
“Your body stays tense after the stress has passed.”
“You walk into a room and forget why you went there in the first place.”
“One small stressor throws off the rest of your day.”
“Your mind keeps running long after the day itself is over.”
“You feel like your system has trouble shifting out of high gear.”
These experiences can occur for many different reasons and do not point to one particular diagnosis. Sometimes people simply notice that their nervous system seems to have a harder time shifting between activation, focus, rest, and recovery.
That is often what leads people to become curious about neurofeedback and nervous-system self-regulation.
What Is LENS?
A gentle, passive form of neurofeedback.
LENS means Low Energy Neurofeedback System.
LENS is a gentle, passive form of neurofeedback. Small sensors read your brainwave activity, and the system sends back a very low-energy signal — kind of like giving your brain a mirror to look in. There’s no task to perform and nothing to consciously control. You simply sit back and relax while your brain does the rest.
LENS sessions are brief, individualized, and guided by a specially trained provider.
Your Visit
Less like a test.
More like a calm session.
We begin with you
We check in about sleep, energy, stress, sensitivity, symptoms, and any changes since your previous visit.
Sensors are placed
Small sensors read activity at selected sites. There are no needles and nothing is injected.
You simply sit
LENS Neurofeedback is passive. There is no task to complete and no performance required.
Your response matters
What you notice during the session and over the following days helps guide what happens next.
Built Around You
LENS Neurofeedback is individualized.
Every session is built around you. Your provider considers your history, symptoms, sensitivity, response to previous sessions, and information gathered during your evaluation.
The goal is to proceed thoughtfully and adjust the process based on your individual response.
What Should I Expect?
Everyone responds differently.
Some people notice changes quickly. Others notice changes more gradually, and some may not notice a meaningful change. Changes may involve areas such as:
Everyone responds differently, and no particular outcome can be guaranteed.
The Process
Getting started is simple.
Complete the Initial Questionnaire
Provide your basic health history, medications, symptoms, and other information relevant to LENS Neurofeedback.
Provider Review
Your questionnaire is reviewed by the LENS provider. If more information is needed, the provider may contact you before your evaluation is scheduled.
Initial LENS Evaluation 60 minutes
Includes review of your history and questionnaires, symptom and baseline assessment, discussion of your goals, evaluation of individual response factors, and LENS administration when appropriate.
LENS Follow-Up 20 minutes
Includes a brief review of how you have been doing, symptom monitoring, and individualized LENS administration.
Optional Add-On: LENS + Health Coaching (Mind/Body Budget)
For clients who want additional lifestyle support, a health-coaching check-in can be incorporated into the same LENS follow-up visit. Coaching may focus on practical areas such as sleep, stress management, movement, nutrition habits, recovery, and sustainable behavior change. It is optional and is not required to receive LENS Neurofeedback.
Thoughtful Follow-Through
We continue to track how you respond.
LENS Neurofeedback does not stop when you leave the office. You will generally receive a brief questionnaire about 48 hours after your session.
This helps us track what you noticed, monitor priority symptoms, identify positive or uncomfortable changes, and use that information when planning future sessions.
Complementary Care
LENS works alongside your existing care.
LENS Neurofeedback is not psychotherapy, emergency medical or psychiatric care, or a replacement for established medical or mental-health treatment. It does not replace prescribed medication.
It may be used alongside care from your existing healthcare professionals when appropriate.
Helpful Answers
Frequently asked questions.
How much does LENS Neurofeedback cost?+
Initial LENS Evaluation — $225 (60 minutes)
LENS Follow-Up — $125 (20 minutes)
LENS Follow-Up + Health Coaching (Mind/Body Budget) — $150
The health-coaching component is incorporated into the same LENS visit. It is not a separate appointment.
Does LENS Neurofeedback hurt?+
LENS Neurofeedback is noninvasive. There are no needles, electrical shocks, or skin penetration. Small sensors are used to read activity while you sit quietly.
Do I have to do anything during LENS Neurofeedback?+
No. You do not have to play a game, watch a screen, meditate, concentrate, or consciously try to change your brain activity. LENS Neurofeedback is passive.
How many sessions will I need?+
There is no predetermined number of sessions. People respond differently. Your provider considers your goals, symptom ratings, response between sessions, tolerance, and overall progress when discussing continued sessions.
How do you know whether LENS Neurofeedback is working for me?+
We track your response rather than assuming. Your provider reviews how you feel between visits, changes in your priority symptoms, and your 48-hour follow-up questionnaires. That information helps guide subsequent sessions.
Is LENS a replacement for therapy, medical treatment, or medication?+
No. LENS Neurofeedback is not intended to replace medical care, mental-health care, therapy, or prescribed medication. It may be used alongside your existing care when appropriate. Medication decisions should remain between you and the healthcare professional who prescribed the medication.
Can children receive LENS Neurofeedback?+
There is no fixed minimum age. Appropriateness is determined individually based on the child’s history, developmental needs, ability to participate safely, and provider judgment. A parent or legal guardian must remain onsite throughout every appointment involving a minor.
Is everyone eligible for LENS Neurofeedback?+
No. LENS Neurofeedback is not appropriate for everyone. Your questionnaire is reviewed before proceeding. Certain medical, neurological, behavioral, or other health histories may require additional provider review before scheduling or proceeding.
Does insurance cover LENS Neurofeedback?+
LENS Neurofeedback is a self-pay service. The clinic can provide an itemized receipt that you may submit for possible reimbursement. Coverage and reimbursement depend on your individual plan.
