What Is Spravato®?

Spravato® is a nasal spray form of esketamine, a medication derived from ketamine and approved by the FDA for adults with:

• Treatment-resistant depression (TRD), or
• Major depressive disorder (MDD) with suicidal thoughts or actions.

Unlike standard antidepressants that act on serotonin, Spravato® affects the glutamate system, helping to restore neural connections that influence mood and emotional regulation. Many patients experience noticeable improvement within hours to days, rather than weeks.

How Spravato® Treatment Works

Spravato® is administered in our clinic under medical supervision to ensure safety and comfort.

Your treatment session includes:

1. Preparation – Review of your medical history, current medications, and treatment goals.
2. Administration – You self-administer the nasal spray under direct supervision of a healthcare provider.
3. Observation – You’ll relax in a calm, private room for approximately two hours while we monitor your response.
4. Aftercare – You’ll need a friend, family member, or ride service to drive you home after your appointment.

• Have not achieved relief from at least two antidepressant medications
